Who are we?

B’NAI SHALOM V’TIKVAH has been developed around the principles of Reform Judaism. What began as a dream in the fall of 1993 has grown to become a committed Jewish community in Durham Region.

B’NAI SHALOM V’TIKVAH is a family and community-based congregation. We hold regular monthly services from September to June. We also have family-hosted Minyan services in July and August. Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat Services are a central part of our congregational life, in addition to Festival and High Holy Day Services. We are fortunate to have experienced spiritual leadership provided by Rabbis and Cantors from the Greater Toronto Area. Our family-friendly services are designed to provide congregants with an opportunity to actively participate. For the Jewish Year 5767, Shabbat morning services will be led by Rabbi Jerry Steinberg and erev Shabbat services are lay-led. High Holy Day Services will be led by Rabbi Steinberg.
